The Luton Town winger’s Championship form dropped for the first time against Hull City on Saturday.
John Mousinho insisted he’s unconcerned about Millenic Alli’s Hull City struggles as he threw his support behind the winger.
The Pompey boss believes the Luton Town loanee has plenty of credit in the bank, as he endured a below-par outing in the 1-0 weekend reverse at Fratton Park.
Mousinho: ‘We’re asking a huge amount of Milli’
And Mousinho has highlighted the gruelling playing schedule the Irishman has taken on, since arriving at Fratton Park on loan in January.

Alli will take on the mantle of providing Pompey’s threat from the left flank, after it was confirmed Josh Murphy will miss the rest of the season with a fractured metatarsal.
The 26-year-old has been a standout performer in his 10 Pompey performances to date, with his direct running helping the Blues deliver improved displays in 2026.
Alli has missed a combined 24 minutes in his time at PO4, that after not playing three games in a week for nearly a year after falling out of favour at Kenilworth Road.
Mousinho thinks that fact is worthy of consideration, but underlined he’s happy with what Alli is offering his side.
He said: ‘I think with Milli, apart from the Sheffield Wednesday game and when we pulled him off late against Watford, he’s had to play 90 minutes of every single game.
‘He’s had to deal with this long run when pitches are heavy and he’s had to play three games (in a week).
‘We’re asking a huge amount of Milli and wingers by their nature are up and down.
‘Unfortunately we haven’t got a replacement with Milli at the minute, with where we are as a squad. But I look at that and think he’s had such a big impact, so the Hull game wasn’t his day – but that’s fine.
‘It’s a big ask at another level and he’s been brilliant for us, so there’s no issues there at all.’
Speaking to The News on Saturday, Alli earned praise from Mousinho for stepping up in Murphy’s absence, with the reigning player of the season hampered by injury.
Mousinho highlighted how many would’ve likely felt the issues which have afflicted the campaign would’ve resulted in a more serious impact on his team.
Mousinho added: ‘Milli has done that brilliantly well.
‘If you’d said Murph was going to be out for pretty much the season, you won’t have Langy for most of the season and Shaughs you’re not going to have for the season.
‘Then Colby, for whatever reason, Colby has scored two goals in all of the league games, I would’ve felt we were in real trouble.
‘That’s not the case and we’re in an okay position, so that’s a real testament to what the lads have done – particularly over the past eight weeks.’
