Watch: Hillary Clinton storms out of Epstein deposition

Hillary Clinton stormed out of a Congressional hearing about her links to Jeffrey Epstein after a picture was taken of her and shared online.

The former secretary of state and first lady was questioned by the House oversight committee for more than six hours on Feb 26 in what was supposed to be a behind-closed-doors hearing.

But an hour into the deposition, Mrs Clinton became irate after being told that someone had taken a photograph and it had been published online.

“I’m done with this if you guys are doing that, I am done. You can hold me in contempt from now until the cows come home,” she said in footage released by the committee, thumping the table with a clenched fist.

Mrs Clinton continued, while jabbing her finger at a speaker who is off-screen: “It doesn’t matter, we all are abiding by the same rules.”

A woman, thought to be the Republican representative for Colorado, Lauren Boebert – who leaked the image to Maga influencer, Benny Johnson, who posted it on X – can be heard saying: “I can take that down.”

“Yeah, well, I’m done for now,” Mrs Clinton responds, before angrily rising to her feet and gathering her things to leave.

Mrs Clinton, who accepted the invitation to testify before the committee at the eleventh hour after initially declining and being threatened with arrest, had asked for the hearing to be open to the press.

Instead, it was agreed that recordings and transcriptions of her deposition would be published online for the public to view at a later date. Live pictures and videos would not be permitted.

Following the hearing, in which Mrs Clinton was questioned about her husband receiving massages from “young women”, Nancy Mace, the Republican representative for South Carolina, claimed Mrs Clinton at one point began “screaming” at her.

In the video released on Monday, Mrs Clinton is seen in a heated exchange with Ms Mace regarding the commerce secretary, Howard Lutnick.

She again becomes irate, telling her: “Well you asked the question and I answered it,” while thumping the table.

“If you’re going to yell at me, I’ll yell right back,” Ms Mace tells her.

Mrs Clinton denied having ever met Epstein and said she had no knowledge of his crimes.

Bill Clinton felt ‘sad’ about Maxwell

Mr Clinton, a long-time friend of Ghislaine Maxwell’s, who is currently serving a 20-year jail sentence for trafficking underage girls and women to the paedophile, was questioned on Feb 27.

Republicans have wanted to question Mr Clinton about Epstein for years.

Those calls intensified late last year when several photos of the former president surfaced in the first release of the Epstein files by the US department of justice (DoJ).

Among them was a topless image of Mr Clinton alongside Maxwell in a jacuzzi with a woman whose face was redacted to protect her identity.

Mr Clinton was asked if he had sexual relations with the woman, to which he responded “no”.

The former president, who was first to be compelled to testify before Congress, was also asked about a massage he received from then 22-year-old Chauntae Davies, who later accused Epstein of abusing her.

The image was reportedly taken in an airport in 2002, before a humanitarian trip to Africa.

Mr Clinton told the hearing: “I wish Chauntae had told me [she was being abused]. I liked her.”

“I didn’t think it was anything unusual, I can’t tell you how many aeroplanes I’ve been on where rich people ask me to go and they had someone offering me a massage,” he added.

Flight logs show that Mr Clinton made at least 27 trips on Epstein’s private jet, the Lolita Express.

During one trip, he was pictured with his arm around a woman whose face was redacted.

Mr Clinton also told the hearing he initially felt “sad” when Maxwell was accused of sex trafficking, because she was his friend.

“That whole thing was hard for me,” he said, adding that the former socialite should pay for her crimes.

He also made clear that he did not think Donald Trump had done anything wrong regarding his relationship with Epstein.

The US president maintains that he cut ties with the financier long before he was accused of any criminal activity.

Mr Trump has said that he removed Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago club and ended their friendship because he hired staff away from the resort and was a “creep”.

Mr Clinton, however, told the hearing that Mr Trump had told him they fell out over a real estate deal.

Mrs Clinton told her hearing that she thinks Mr Trump should be called to testify, a sentiment echoed by Democrats on the committee.

Mr Clinton, who admitted to travelling on Epstein’s private plane, wrote in his memoir that he had “stopped contact” with Epstein before he was first arrested in 2005 on suspicion of child sex crimes.

He said that he always thought Epstein was “odd” but “had no inkling of the crimes he was committing”.

Neither Mr nor Mrs Clinton are accused of any criminal wrongdoing.
